Information used to run the game
Playing online creates a guest identifier and session. We store game activity such as guesses, scores, hints, completed rounds, saved discoveries, group membership and question reports. If you choose to save an account, we also process the display name and email address you provide.
Your map guesses are game inputs. The game does not request your device’s precise location or microphone. Hosting and authentication services may process your IP address, browser information and security logs to deliver and protect the service.
If you contact us, we store your message, topic, optional email address and our reply privately with your account so we can handle the request.
Browser storage
We use browser storage for sessions, preferences, practice progress and recovery of pending answers. Clearing it may sign you out or remove access to guest progress; it does not itself delete records stored online.
Why we use information
We use these records to save progress, calculate scores, show rankings, support groups and challenges, handle reports, troubleshoot errors and prevent abuse. Game events help us understand whether features work as intended.
What other players can see
Your display name and eligible scores may appear in rankings. Group members can see group standings. People with a challenge link can view the shared result. Avoid putting private information in your display name or group name.
Service providers
Cloudflare hosts and delivers the website. Supabase provides authentication and the game database; the configured database is in the United States. Providers may process service and security information in other countries. Read Cloudflare’s privacy policy and Supabase’s privacy policy.
Optional spoken reactions use your browser or device’s speech service. Voice processing can depend on its provider. You can switch Voice off. Source links open external websites governed by their own policies.
Website analytics
Cloudflare Web Analytics measures page views, visits and page performance to help us improve the website. Its analytics beacon does not use cookies or local storage to collect usage metrics. Read about Cloudflare Web Analytics.
Advertising
This version does not run AdSense or advertising trackers. If advertising or additional analytics are introduced, we will update this policy and provide any required choices before activating them.
If Google AdSense is added, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads based on visits to this and other websites where permitted. We will publish the applicable details and enable required consent choices before loading advertising tags. Storage and your choices
Game and account records are retained to maintain your progress and operate the service until removed. Security logs and backups follow the relevant service provider’s retention settings and may persist after active records are removed. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion; we will explain any information we must retain and why.
Age
GeoArcade is intended for players aged 13 and older. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and address it.
