How to play

Pick a category, read the clue and find the place.

1. Choose an available round from Play.
2. Drag and zoom the map to explore. A single tap submits your answer by default.
3. For time to adjust your pin, tick Confirm location before locking in. Then press Lock it in when ready.
4. Watch the route reach the correct place, read the answer and select Next question.
5. After five questions, review your answers, share your score or choose another available round.

Scoring

New rounds have a maximum of 1,000 points: up to 100 base points ×2 for each of five questions. Closer guesses earn more. Guesses within 15 miles earn the full 200 points; a guess 749 miles away earns 152 points.

An extra clue reduces that question’s maximum to 160 points. Earlier saved rounds keep the scoring rules shown on their results.

Two rounds per player day

Each category has its own progress. Complete both five-question rounds to finish your current day. The next day opens after midnight Eastern Time. Miss a visit? Your next questions wait for you, without skipping ahead. Available content varies by category; more rounds will be added.

Your controls

Tap a city abbreviation to choose that city. Zoom closer to see full names. With single-tap answers enabled, choosing a label submits your guess; enable pin confirmation first if you want to adjust it. You can also place a pin anywhere on the map. Learn how city shortcuts work.

Voice reactions can be switched off on the map. Keyboard pin controls provide another way to place and submit a guess. Your browser remembers preferences when storage is available.

Guest progress

A guest session is tied to your browser. Clearing browser storage or changing devices can make that guest progress inaccessible. See Profile for available account options.
